Superb location with great lake views and access. 20 mins walk into Ambleside which isn't too bad. Plenty of circular walks starting from hotel doorstep. The rooms and decor are a little dated and the lounge and bar area although cosy, could do with some sprucing up. Bonus EV charging points for hotel guests which is very convinient.
Beautiful place surprisingly reasonable prices unbelievable views highly recommended a visit... Best chocolate cake I've had for a long time
Stunning setting for afternoon tea. Delicious freshly prepared food. Excellent customer service, especially as they rang before our celebration to tailor our tea to take into account special dietary requirements. Very clean restaurant area. Beautiful gardens. Easy parking.
Can I just say on of behalf of 13 windermere wi ladies who had lunch with you today 17/7/25 what an outstanding lunch we had.The service the food and ambience were truly fantastic. Our table had a view over the lake was the icing on the cake. Once again thank you. Windermere wi lunching ladies.
Right as this is a private hote I will be honest but mindful. Beautiful but if you didn't drive dragging a case up that drive !!! The views breath taking the walks amazing but to eat there every night !! Maybe have a special's board otherwise regardless how good the food is..same menu every night for a 5 night stay! USB ports in rooms,bigger television!! The room its self was lovely, massive beds, warm room,clean bathroom can't fault. The star of our stay was Kier(?) Such an approachable man. Felt we could be ourselves around him and considering he has only been in the partnership 3 months, what a edition to the team. So would I stay again ? Was it worth the money ? A solid yes to both
My favourite of all the partnership hotels. Location is stunning. We usually opt for a garden view room as we don't spend a lot of waking time in the room. Lounge area and outside seating area have beautiful views of Lake. All the partners working there are friendly and helpful. Food amazing. Plenty of information available fir local walks and attractions. Ambleside town just 15 minutes walk, Waterhead 5 minutes.
The stay was fantastic and the lake view were amazing. There is a nearby waterfall only 15 minutes walk from stay and also a hike which would give a good view over the lake. Loved the stay and hospitality.
Beautifully clean. Great linen, bath sheets and toiletries. Superb views of Lake Windermere and great for paddleboarding. Comfy bar area with indoor and outdoor seating and spectacular views.
